Be an integral part of a dynamic and progressive team of communications and interactive professionals at Communications Services. As the Communications Advisor and Industry Consultant, you will partner with branch leadership to take proactive action on emerging challenges and opportunities in the communications industry by providing leadership in procurement of communications services for government clients. This opportunity is for a one year term commencing in July 2012.
Communications Services is a customer-centric branch that aims to serve others through its commitment to learning, stakeholder engagement and quality delivery. Its core business includes procuring print and communications services for government clients, interactive development, supporting effective client/supplier relationships, and administration of central government policy on procurement, interactive and visual identity.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to public service, and focus on continual learning and development, participation in organizational culture and professional delivery.
- You will provide leadership to government communicators in communications services purchasing, offering industry insight, connections and expertise while ensuring fair tendering practices through the application of the Communications Procurement Policy and applicable trade agreements.
- You will build capacity for successful communications practices in communications branches by sourcing and leading valuable professional development programs for client groups.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience providing advice and support to senior professionals, and takes pride in achieving successful client/supplier relationships, effective communication, customer service and team work. Daily work will include activities such as leading and managing tenders, evaluating proposals and awarding contracts, strengthening client and supplier relationships, and providing advice and consultation to clients.
Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through a University degree in Commerce or Administration (Marketing) or Communications with two to three years experience in a Marketing or Communications role in a professional office environment.
