We are always looking for current CPRS members who are interested in getting involved with CPRS Regina, either as a director on our board or on a shorter-term basis to support various events and projects. Volunteers will have an opportunity to connect with other communications professionals and receive mentorship/menteeship experience as well as project management experience to help with their career trajectory.
As one of 13 member societies of CPRS National, we offer members many of benefits, including community networking and mentorship. Those wanting to join the CPRS Regina Board of Directors are required to be CPRS Regina members; however, outside applicants will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. Co-Director of Events
Works closely with Director of Marketing on the promotion of local and national events
Works closely with the Director of Professional Development on assisting with PD events (technology set up such as zoom or day of the event).
Plans networking, social gatherings, chapter AGM (works with the Director of Administration and Vice-President on the AGM)
Member and board member recruitment
Emcees events
Shares chapter events on the CPRS Chapters Basecamp collaboration centre.
Works with other chapters and national events when needed.
Updates the website
Co-Director of Marketing
Works closely with Director of Events on chapter events
Manages all of the chapter social media channels - FB page/account, IG account, LinkedIn page/account, Twitter including being on the chapter channels during the program year (Fiscal year is from September to August and Program year is September - June).
Social media design and copy for events, PD sessions using Canva
Social media content calendar for the chapter during the program year
Works with national on the social media content, sharing and collaborating with them and other chapters when possible
Manages content and updates on the chapter website.
Is the primary contact for our website host
Reviews analytics on social media and website
Collaborates with the local Director of Member on the promotion of membership and member benefits (local and national).
Collaborates with the Director of Finance & Business Development on the chapter revenue strategies
Director of Administration & Governance (Vacant)
Sets and organizes the CPRS Regina board meetings
Assists with website and social media postings
Maintains the minutes for the chapter,
Works with the chapter Vice-President and the National Governance Committee to ensure CPRS Regina Bylaws are in accordance with the national bylaws.
Runs in conjunction with the nomination committee, the chapter board elections held in the fall.
Chapter year runs from September to August.
Keeps the chapter records via the board google folder on minutes, bylaw and bylaw changes
Is a member of the executive team of CPRS Regina
Member and board member recruitment
Assists with the orientation of new board members, working with the Director of Membership
Director of Accreditation (Vacant) - Duties include:
Liaise with CPRS National on Accreditation in Public Relations (APR®) Accreditation program
Liaise with CPRS National on Public Relations Knowledge (PRK®) Accreditation
Work with local APR candidates during their accreditation year
Work with local PRK candidates during their accreditation year
Promote the APR program to local candidates
Promote the PRK exam to local candidates and universities: including U of Regina, U of S and Sask Polytechnic
Build a strategy to promote the program locally
Recruit & answer local APR and PRK inquiries
Student Ambassador (Vacant) - Duties include:
Build relationships with PR student bodies including other student organizations such as the U of R Marketing Group, U of R Centre for CCE, PR Program, SaskPolytech, First Nations Univeristy Communications Program
Is the lead and primary contact for student volunteers with chapter events
Works in collaboration with the Director of Membership and National on student member recruitment
Works in collaboration with the Director of Professional Devleopment, Director of Marketing and Director of Events on chapter professional development and events
Develops the student recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Director of Membership, Director of Marketing and the Director of Finance and Business Development
Connects and is the chapter representative with other student chapter liasions and with CPRS National
EVENT/PROJECT VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for volunteers who are more interested in committing their time to specific CPRS Regina events or projects, typically on a more shorter-term basis than volunteering as a board member. Many of our volunteers come up with their own ideas for projects and events. We are always looking for a new and fresh perspective!
